A chain of restaurants that manages to conjure the feel of family-run establishments, Annie’s serves simple and tasty Italian cuisine. The pastas and risottos are filling and great value at around ¥40, while the meat and fish-heavy main courses aren’t quite as good value but still satisfy at an average of ¥80. Fresh salads and assorted appetizers cost ¥20-30. Bottled beer is very cheap at ¥10-15 while a bottle of the house wine is around ¥90. Annie’s bills itself as a family-friendly enterprise with small play areas for children, which might be a blessing for parents but a nightmare for other patrons. The decor doesn’t do much to impress but is inoffensive. Lingering waitstaff can be a little disconcerting though the service is very efficient.
