Legendary writer and researcher who wrote a series of books about the Yaqui Indians' system of thought, "The Teachings of Don Juan". Castaneda's work was very influential, especially in the 60s, when it was published. Although some people are still not sure whether he made it all up, the fact is that his books deal with a lot of profound concepts that have connections to a lot of other fields of knowledge: from psychology to cybernetics. Later in his life Castaneda was preoccupied with dreams and wrote several books on the subject.

Castaneda said that he borrowed the term tensegrity from architecture because the magical passes combine tension and relaxation of the muscles, joints and ligaments in a way that yields a stronger, more flexible, and more "aware" physical body. The intent of the movements is to create a general sense of well-being and purpose in daily life. We often disperse our energy in daily life situations and Tensegrity is said to help bring it back to the vital centers of the body.
