Charles and Ray Eames (1907-1978, 1912-1988) were an American husband and wife design duo who made many contributions to the fields of industrial design, art, graphic design, film and architecture.

They are best known for their furniture and architectural designs in the 50s, during which period they developed many innovative techniques in the production of molded plywood, fiberglass, plastic resin and wire mesh chairs for Herman Miller. They made films, often educational, including their best known Powers of Ten (1977) and were also successful exhibition designers, creating Mathematica: a world of numbers... for IBM in 1961 which is still existent.

The Eames' body of work is visible everywhere today, the most prolific being the Eames lounge chair.
