Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf is the fourth borough of Berlin, formed in 2001 by merging the former boroughs of Charlottenburg and Wilmersdorf.
The borough was the center of former West Berlin. The Technical University of Berlin (Technische Universität Berlin), the Berlin University of the Arts (Universität der Künste), the opera Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Charlottenburg Palace and the Olympic Stadium are located in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf.
Some people would say it is the 100% difference to areas like Kreuzberg. It's really posh, western architecture and has a more capitalistic, wealthy flair. More families, less divers youth culture.
