Another well-located option for those attending the Canton Fair, the China Marriott Hotel is just across the street from the main exhibition building. The China Hotel offers pretty much what you would expect from any Marriott outpost. Rooms are large and well-equipped with ironing boards, hair-dryers, satellite TVs and DVD players as standard while business rooms also boast good desk set-ups. Standard rooms are around $90 per night at the usual discounted rate. Internet access, via cable, is not free (except during the Canton Fair) which is pretty stingy. Staff speak excellent English and are efficient, if overly officious. All the business and leisure facilities you would expect from a five-star hotel are offered, though nothing stands out as extraordinary. Indeed, there are no real surprises at the China Hotel. It has everything you would expect and nothing else to offer in terms of character or service. A good choice for the unadventurous.
