Feeling at loss with what is queer these days as we are bombarded by the very ass end of the rainbow from industrial standards of homo international on steroids to the lame reactions towards recent hate crimes to the ever increasing amount of intolerant gayromeo profiles that explicitly state "macho men only, no blacks, no Asians, no fems, no queens". Where did queers go? Where did otherness go? Have these ideals left their celestial discommerce to fit into a nice pair of designer jeans once and for all? There used to be a time when the appropriation of derogatory terms like pussy, faggot or queer was a political act in itself disturbing and dislocating the heterosexual matrix. In the general assumption of post gay liberation how is it possible to reaccess subversive dynamics?
We propose that performing otherness is a threshold towards repositioning our habitual understanding of queer ideals. Creature Feature will work to create an intimate space for performing dispossession, rapture, monstrosity, flamboyance, glitter, hysteria and general ecstatic irrationality. Or la la la... its opposites!
