Culture Flatrate

 

 

 

 

Culture Flatrate is a concept of charging a fixed fee for using cultural content (music, film, etc.) It has been implemented as an experiment at the Isle of Man, where people who have access to the internet are charged £1 per month and are allowed unlimited access to copyright material.

There are still discussions as to how the government organizations could spread the revenue obtained this way among the artists, but in general it's an interesting concept that could provide viable way for artists to monetize on their work.
