Delain is a symphonic metal band, formed in Zwolle, Netherlands in 2002. The band consists of Charlotte Wessels (vocals), Ronald Landa (guitars, vocals), Rob van der Loo (bass), Martijn Westerholt (keyboards), and Sander Zoer (drums). Delain was founded by Martijn Westerholt, the ex-pianist and brother of one the founders of Within Temptation, Robert Westerholt. He left Within Temptation in 2001 when he suffered from Pfeiffer's disease. He started Delain in 2002. The band released a demo entitled "Amenity" in 2002.
