Ostrova (that means just the Islands) is name for group of islands on Neva - Krestovski, Kamenny, Elagin and ,sometimes, Aptecarsky. all the time it was popular place for spending free-tme of peterburgians, there are rich mansions, at past - at tzars' times - aristocracy, at soviet - high goverment employees and now of the poshes.
On Ostrova are set some well-known books like Rodion Raskolnikov of Crime Ρ„and Punishment tried to get here but fell in sleep on the way. By yhe way - here happend one of most known political terrorist attack when group of socialists tried to make an attempt at Prime-Minister Stolypin with dynamite made on Gorky's flat. They didn't kill him this time (they did it six years later) but killed 27and injured 33 innocents.
