The CCN has such strong reputation due to the achievments of director/choreogrpaher Mathilde Monnier. This venue is home to an education program (ex.e.r.ce), a residency program (ReRc), and the base for Mathilde Monnier's bizarre, inventive, and thoughtful works. She created an international center located in Montpellier with the full support of France's cultural funds. Some may consider this space to be elitist and exclusive for French intellectuals, but I would like to think that Monnier's expansive mind and interest in arts education make the CCN a great place to check out regardless of aesthetic interests.
