A mainstay of the Chengdu bar scene, Little Bar is a lovely place for a drink. It is also a rarity in China; a western style bar where the Chinese clientele by far outnumber the foreigners, making it the best of both worlds for those looking for some form of authenticity while not wanting to stray too far from their comfort zone. What really makes Little Bar special though is the friendly staff and clientele. It’s a place where you will instantly feel welcome. In terms of design, the venue is quite small (as the name suggests) and is tastefully decorated with paintings and arty photographs. Drinks are very cheap with bottled beer and spirits a mere ¥15-20. A quality, non-mainstream music selection plays at a perfect volume – not loud enough that you have to strain your vocal cords to hold a conversation. Little Bar also hosts live bands every now and then.
