A popular student hang-out in the university district, Lush is enjoyable both as a cafe by day and as a bar by night. Menu highlights include tasty bacon and egg breakfasts starting at ¥20 and a quality range of burgers from ¥25-40. Drinks are cheap with bottled beer from ¥20-25 and spirits and cocktails for around the same prices. Hoegaarden draught is a huge drawcard and won’t break the bank at a reasonable ¥35. Lush features a simple, pleasing design – sedate and cozy - but the place is always packed so has a lively atmosphere. Although it might be difficult getting a table at times. The soundtrack at Lush is quite eclectic, featuring hip-hop, experimental electronic and alternative, but never strays too far from the mainstream. Hosts live music on Friday nights and a popular open mic session on Sunday nights. A nice place to chill out with friends and prepare for a bigger night ahead.
