This three storey bar behemoth is always packed with patrons and usually pretty good fun. A lively, large and friendly bar, Malone’s is also a great place to meet new people if you’re new in Shanghai. The ground floor is for drinking, eating, watching sports on multiple large screens and hosting the house cover band. The second floor holds a free pool table and more places to park yourself while downing a pint. The third storey loft is for less rowdy (and more talented) live music artists. Prices are pretty much standard: draught Tiger costs ¥40, while cocktails and spirits are on offer from ¥50. Malone’s also boasts an extensive menu, with a huge range of burgers, other standard bar food and Chinese options as well. Mains start from around ¥60. Of particular note at Malone’s are the popular American-style Sunday brunches and the extended buy one, get one free happy hour from 2pm – 8pm on weekdays (5pm-8pm on weekends).
