Mayak is also called "the club of the drinking intelligentsia" and it really lives up to it. It's not unusual to meet an editor-in-chief of some major liberal newspaper or a prominent film director here. That's why the place is usually quite overcrowded and sometimes it may even be hard to get in. Otherwise it's a great place for great conversations where alcohol flows like a river and where even the most respectful people don't refuse themselves the pleasure of letting go.
