Although she is not as crowd pleasing as other famed choreographers like Pina Baush and William Forsythe, her work is a true testament of our times. She has developed her own personal and uniquely evocative choreographies, first exploring her disjointed, ruptured, and seemingly tortured movement aesthetic into a more performative/theatical exploration. Meg Stuart has managed to develop a sort of cult following with such inventive and controversial works such as"Replacement" (2006) and "Alibi"(2001). She also has collaborated with video artist Gary Hill on a video installation, director/performance theorist Tim Etchels, and continues to work with contemporary composer Hahn Rowe. Meg Stuart is currently based in both Brussels and Berlin, although consistently touring new and old works. She is also now a resident director at Berlin's Volksbuehne Theater.
