Simply the best bar in Moscow located at a very special place called Krasny Oktyabr, which is sort of a trendy area, home to many of the Moscow's new architecture and design bureaus as well as media companies.

Frequented by students who study at the adjacent Strelka Institute for Media, Design, and Architecture, this place also attracts very hip crowds from all over the city. The reason is that the place really has a story to tell and that it's ran by the people who were behind the most interesting projects of Moscow's early days.
Basically, you'll be enjoying the company of beautiful people and the best news is that most of them speak perfect English. The atmosphere can be quite calm, they like to have acoustic live concerts and there's a piano that gets used a bit too often maybe, but you can also expect to have some full on actions, depending on who's playing.

The interior is also very special. In one of the interviews Roman Mazurenko, who runs the place, said they imagined what Moscow would be like had there been no revolution. So they made up this story of the workers opening their own place in the 20s and then this place having a life of its own, accumulating eclectic artefacts as it went along.

That said, Strelka Bar has one disadvantage and that is its own perfection. Moscow is not a good place to risk, especially when you run a project like that. So if you expect to see something raw and real, this is not the place. Strelka is a super refined, well-functioning business first and foremost and it's very good at it. But if you need a place that will crack your mind open, look elsewhere.
