Housed in a basement and boasting an interesting cave-style interior, Mural has a really great design. Unfortunately the young, impoverished expat clientele are generally very filthy people, most likely as a result of the incredibly cheap drinks (there’s some sort of drink special on every night). The ¥100 ($14.50) open bar on Friday nights might sound appealing, but it’s best to stay away unless you’re keen to see hideously ugly foreign students throwing up and people pissing on the bathroom floor. The Latin Jazz Night on Thursdays and the live music on Saturday nights draw a classier crowd. Mural can be a very fun place if you’re in the right mood for it. Otherwise it might just leave you vaguely disgusted.
