This flashy strip of restaurants on the south bank of the Yangtze River presents a number of dining options, with many of the highest rated restaurants in Chongqing located here. Tao Ran Ju (陶然居), which specializes in Sichuan dishes, is considered one of the city’s best for local food. There is another outlet of Propitious Winds 123 (顺风123) in the area, while Yi Guan Piao Xiang (一罐飘香) is another Sichuan restaurant that will really test your tolerance for spicy food. An average bill per person at a restaurant on Nan Bin Lu is around ¥80, but there are always far pricier options on the menus. Unfortunately, there isn’t much English on the menus here. Your best bet might be to stroll from place to place to check out what’s on offer.
