Neukölln is the eighth borough of Berlin, located in the southeastern part of the city. It features many Gründerzeit buildings and has one of the highest percentage of immigrants in Berlin. In the past few years there were lot's of talks about the area, that it is the most dangerous and criminal area, but it's not really. There are some parts which are a bit dodgy that's true but in general you can see that there is a big movement and change going on there. Artists Musicians and all other kinds of people discover the potential of this borough at the moment. Because it has one of the cheapest prices for rent in Berlin, a lot of creativity and culural potential is moving there. There are a lot of interesting things going on and also which could be expected in the next few years. It is really similar to the situation of whats happening to the area of wedding in the north of Berlin at the moment. There will be a major shift from less and less effordable areas like Kreuzberg or Prenzlauer Berg to the areas of Neukölln and Wedding.
