Roysten Abel is an Indian theater director. He graduated from the National School of Drama in India in 1994 and worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company. He returned to India and founded the Indian Shakespeare Company, where he did mostly Shakespeare for some time, until his work started to go in a new direction with his re-staging of Othello. He now works with out of work street performers, with his last major work, The Manganiyar Seduction, employing 50 Manganiyar musicians and 100 snake charmers. He is in the process of opening an International Contemporary Folk Center in Ja Isalmer.
