German pub and restaurant with that den-style decor so rare in Beijing and windows looking out onto the serenity of Ritan Park. Schindler’s Tankstelle is probably better known as a restaurant, but its great selection of German brews makes it more valuable as a pub. Wernesgruner is on tap for ¥35 for 500mL while the light and dark varieties of Erdinger, Franziskaner, Weihenstephaner and Einsiedler wheat beer are also offered. In the food department the menu is heavy with sausages and sauerkraut starting at around ¥30, while there is a ¥60 set lunch available on weekdays. Schindler’s Tankstelle can become quite busy at night so it’s best to start your drinking session early. Overall this is a fine place to down some quality beers.
