An expat haven in Beijing, the Bookworm is a cafe, restaurant, lending library and bookshop that also hosts cultural events such as author talks and poetry readings. With a collection of over 14000 books, this is the best place in Beijing to find English-language reading material. Library membership costs ¥300 per year or ¥200 for six months. Coffee sells for ¥20-30 while there is a good selection of European food on the menu for ¥35 and up. The Bookworm also features free wiress internet access with plenty of space to set up your computer. The Beijing Bookworm was the original in China, with outlets now also in Chengdu and Suzhou. Cozy, comfortable and cultural.
