Berlin festival will take place for the 4th time from 7-8 August.

Local talent as well as International acts from the pop world will rock two stages as well as an indoor floor at a location for about 10.000 visitors. Deichkind will play their only Berlin gig for the rest of the year, Saint Etienne will give one of their rare live shows. Dendemann will celebrate exclusively with his band the live-premiere of his new album as well as the horn-rimmed spectacled god of Britpop, Jarvis Cocker! Oneida can only be seen in 2009 in the capital at the Berlin Festival. Also confirmed joining the above acts are The Thermals, die Berlin Battery crew, newcomer Florence And the Machine, Health who just shook up SXSW, Errors, WhoMadeWho, Kilians and locals Bodi Bill and Bonaparte. More international indie heroes, UK-talent, New-Rave-explosions, indie-electronics and DJs will be added to the bill soon. When you consider that in the last few years acts like the Klaxons, Uffie and Late of The Pier or old heroes like Ian Brown and Echo and the Bunnymen appeared, it seems that the bill will get very exciting.

As the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sunday Newspaper correctly said after the Berlin Festival 2007, it is „the perfect festival for people who don’t like festivals“. It isn’t a field or forest event but one with an open-air feeling in urban surroundings and it comes with all the advantages being right at heart of the capital when an infrastructure, a roof over your head and a warm bed awaits you….or a vibrant nightlife.
Address: Metro: Platz der Luftbrücke U6, Berlin, Germany
From ThisIsLike.Com

Bright, young commanders of a brand of unique Englishness, their blend of smooth edged punk and pop produces music which is sweet, raw, joyous, melancholic, raucous and tender. The Pirates' idiosyncratic and endearing song writing puts them somewhere between the Flying Nun band Tall Dwarfs and the wistful reflection of On The Beach-era Neil Young. The band was formed in 2005 and consists of Tommy Sanders (vocals), Peter Cattermoul (bass/vocals), David Thorpe (guitar), Jonny Sanders (drums) and Peter Hefferan (guitar/vocals).
