Decent coffee shop that tries a little too hard to seem arty. Sure enough, Waiting for Godot has a stylish atmosphere, with dim lighting and appropriate literary paraphernalia decorating the walls. But it seems too well orchestrated to be authentic. Likewise, the waiters seem haughty in a way that complements the overall pretence of the place. On the plus side, the coffee is very good, if overpriced at ¥35, and the Belgian beer selection is a noteworthy feature. Ample distractions including plenty of books, a CD collection and a chess set. Waiting for Godot is well worth checking out – whether you love it or find it vaguely irritating will depend on you.
