Born in 1976 in London, Walead Beshty works mainly in photography and installation. His 2008 artwork for Whitney Biennial featured glass boxes, which were shipped in FedEx prior to exhibition. The fractures appear as the natural result of the handling during the transportation and the work itself transforms throughout times, as it gets shown in more spaces. Beshty's work evokes the notions of transition, impermanence, movement, and change. His photographic works of an abandoned Iraqi embassy was also exhibited at Whitney Biennial in 2008.
